Job summary

Exceed Human Resource Consultants in Cape Town is seeking an experienced outbound sales consultant who will drive new business opportunities and build lasting customer relationships.

You will spend most weeks in the field meeting clients, prospecting, and negotiating to grow market share. Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in outbound, relationship-driven sales.
• Food, seafood, FMCG or similar fast-moving industry experience advantageous.
• Strong new business development and prospecting skills.
• Confident, outgoing and customer-focused communication style.
• Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.
• Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
• Self-motivated, resilient and able to work independently.
• Comfortable with extensive field-based travel.
• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle.
• Strong leadership potential with the ability to mentor and develop a sales team.

Responsibilities

• Drive outbound sales and actively develop new business opportunities.
• Spend the majority of the working week meeting customers in the field.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
• Prospect, cold-call and identify new customers and market segments.
• Maintain knowledge of product pricing, availability and market positioning.
• Respond to customer queries and act as their primary point of contact.
• Process customer orders and follow through to ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor order fulfilment and resolve customer issues proactively.
• Provide management with market, competitor and customer insights.
• Support the future development and mentoring of junior sales team members.
