Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Field Technician in oil and gas.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Valid driver’s license; willingness to work in field near Stellenbosch.
• Knowledge of safety procedures including LOTO and Permit to Work.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspection, and repair of pumps, valves, and instrumentation.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues to minimize downtime.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a hands-on and technically proficient Field Operations Technician to support their operations near Stellenbosch. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment critical to our oil and gas production processes. Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspection, and repair of production equipment, including pumps, valves, and instrumentation.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose operational issues, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
• Install and commission new equipment and systems according to technical specifications.
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and parts inventory.
• Respond to emergency calls and assist in resolving operational disruptions as needed.

Requirements

• National Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related trade.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Field Technician or similar role in the oil and gas industry.
• Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to work in field conditions near Stellenbosch.
• Knowledge of safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Permit to Work systems.
