Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Field Maintenance Technician to support operations in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose equipment faults, and carry out repairs to keep services running smoothly.

The role requires hands-on expertise in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, proficiency with diagnostic tools and meters, and the ability to work independently and travel to multiple sites within the Mossel Bay area.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Field Maintenance Technician or similar in Installation & Maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and meters; able to work independently.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel across Mossel Bay sites.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventative maintenance on assigned equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose root causes of equipment failures and implement repair solutions.
• Carry out repairs and replacements of faulty components per safety guidelines.
• Install and commission new equipment or upgrades as required by project demands.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records including parts used and labor time.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests to minimize downtime.

About the Role

You will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance tasks, from routine checks to complex repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to services. The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional with a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, committed to upholding the highest standards of service and safety in the Installation & Maintenance field.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on all assigned equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Perform diagnostic assessments to identify the root cause of equipment failures and implement effective repair solutions.
• Carry out repairs and replacements of faulty components, ensuring work is completed to specification and within safety guidelines.

Requirements

• Solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, multimeters, and other maintenance equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various sites within the Mossel Bay area.
