Job summary

Telkom Openserve seeks a Tech Officer: Core Network Field Ops to perform acceptance, commissioning, maintenance and fault management on Core and Access telecoms technologies.

The role requires an National Diploma/Advanced Diploma or equivalent (NQF 6/4) in engineering, minimum 6 months to 1 year relevant experience, and the ability to work across multiple technology domains; candidates must be willing to work at site and travel as required.

Qualifications

• NQF 6/4: Engineering diploma or equivalent
• 6 months to 1 year relevant telecoms experience
• Willingness to work on site and travel as required
• Knowledge of wireless, copper, optic, and IP networks preferred
• Good documentation and reporting skills

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, assurance and preventative maintenance on core and access tech
• Monitor and diagnose equipment performance; update records
• Repair faults and recover equipment; facilitate site access
• Install and activate equipment and services; perform ATP tests
• Provide assistance and support as needed
