Job summary

Network Finance in Durban is seeking a ready-to-learn IT Support Technician to join a multi-site environment. You will provide first-line hardware, software, and network support and log tickets to track progress and resolution.

The role involves basic troubleshooting, asset management, site visits, and user onboarding. Travel across KwaZulu-Natal may be required, with a focus on clear communication and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• Relevant IT qualification, certificate, or diploma advantageous.
• 0-2 years' experience in IT support, helpdesk, or technical support.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, networking, and peripherals.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow procedures and document work accurately.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout KwaZulu-Natal.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line technical support for hardware, software, printers, scanners, and related peripherals.
• Log, update, and resolve support tickets while maintaining accurate records of work completed.
• Troubleshoot operating system, device, connectivity, and application-related issues.
• Assist with equipment setup, deployments, installations, and user onboarding.
• Perform basic network and wireless connectivity checks and escape complex issues when required.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and scheduled site visits.
• Maintain accurate IT asset records, including equipment allocation and serial numbers.
• Support store upgrades, equipment refresh projects, and technology rollouts.
• Escalate unresolved, critical, or security-related incidents to senior support personnel.
• Deliver excellent customer service and provide users with technical guidance and support.
