Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Installation and Commissioning Engineer in the Sandton area. You will travel to client sites to install, commission, and train personnel on newly installed industrial equipment.

A strong mechanical/electrical background and problem-solving skills are essential for ensuring smooth handover and long-term reliability. You will read engineering drawings and schematics, troubleshoot complex systems, and work either autonomously or as part of a project team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required.
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills are essential.
• Experience with reading engineering drawings, P&IDs, and electrical schematics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation of industrial equipment at client sites.
• Conduct commissioning tests to verify function, performance and safety.
• Diagnose and resolve installation-related issues or malfunctions.
• Provide on-site training to client operators and maintenance staff.
• Collaborate with sales and engineering for smooth project handover.
• Maintain accurate installation and test records and inform management.
