Job summary

Herotel Telecoms (Pty) Ltd is seeking a Technical Assistant based in Koster to support installations, troubleshooting and maintenance of fibre optic and wireless systems. You will work with Senior Technicians on site surveys, cable runs and equipment mounting.

The role requires a Grade 12 and a valid driver’s license, with readiness to work overtime and in varied weather. You will be part of a hands-on team ensuring safety and quality on every site.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 is required; additional certifications or training is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license is essential.
• Must be medically fit and able to follow Health and Safety procedures.
• Experience with installations, troubleshooting and maintaining fibre/wireless systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Site Survey: assist with signal scans and location photos for CPE brackets and routing.
• Callout Repairs: tidy workspace and inspect sites for future issues; take photos.
• Installation: mount brackets, install cable runs, and keep site tidy.
• CPE Recovery: remove equipment and clean up.
• Vehicle: keep tools stocked and organized; maintain stock in the vehicle.
