Job summary

Octotel is seeking a hands-on Fibre Installation Technician in Bredasdorp to install fibre optic networks and support on-site customers. You will prepare Detailed Site Plans, install infrastructure per DSPs, submit as-built docs, maintain stock and vehicle logbooks, and assist with office tasks.

The role requires physical fitness, outdoor work, and strong communication with residents and clients. You should have Matric, 3 years of fibre installation experience, a valid Code 8 license, and CFOT

Qualifications

• Matric Certificate or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years' fibre installation experience.
• CFOT certificate is advantageous.
• Ability to use power tools safely and effectively.
• Valid code 8 Drivers License.
• Active, physically demanding outdoor work including walking and canvassing.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with residents and customers.

Responsibilities

• Installation of Fibre optic networks.
• On-site monitoring and liaison between Octotel and the client.
• Prepare Detailed Site Plans for new fibre and wireless installs.
• Install network infrastructure and equipment per DSPs.
• Prepare As Built Documentation for completed installations.
• Monitor and maintain boot stock for installation vehicles.
• Manage vehicle logbook and maintenance of company vehicle.
• Assist in general office maintenance as required by management.
• Conduct flyer drops to promote fibre coverage and drive sign-ups.
• Perform door-to-door canvassing to inform residents and generate leads.
