Job summary

Placements24 in Klerksdorp is seeking a skilled Fiber Optic Installer to join our operations team. This hands-on role installs and tests fiber cables for residential and business customers, working on-site to ensure high-quality connections that meet standards.

You will perform splicing, terminate connectors, read site plans, and troubleshoot issues, while maintaining safety and equipment. Travel within the Klerksdorp area is required and opportunities for advancement exist.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Fiber Optic Technician or Installer.
• Proficiency in fiber optic splicing techniques and testing equipment.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
• Good physical condition for climbing and confined spaces.
• Knowledge of fiber optic cable types, connectors, and testing standards.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the Klerksdorp area.

Responsibilities

• Install, connect, and test fiber optic cables in aerial, underground, and in-building environments.
• Perform fiber optic splicing and terminate connectors per specifications.
• Read and interpret site plans, blueprints, and installation guides.
• Troubleshoot and repair issues during installation.
• Ensure installations meet safety and quality standards.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good condition.
• Provide excellent on-site customer service.
