Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Festival Event Manager to lead the planning and execution of major cultural and music festivals in the Nelspruit region. The role covers concept development, budgeting, vendor coordination, artist liaison, and on-site production to deliver exceptional festival experiences.

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience in large-scale festivals, strong budgeting and contract negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing large-scale festivals or public events.
• Proven budget management, contract negotiation, and vendor relations experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets for assigned festivals.
• Source, negotiate with, and manage event vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
• Coordinate logistics, site planning, A/V, and staffing.
• Liaise with artists, performers, and management for riders and schedules.
• Oversee on-site operations, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth execution.
• Implement robust health, safety, and security protocols for events.
• Collaborate with marketing and sponsorship teams to achieve event objectives.
