Job summary

Constantia Fertiliser, part of the TWK Group, is looking for a Fertiliser Sales Agent to promote and sell fertiliser products to agricultural customers on the South Coast, KwaZulu-Natal. The role includes providing expert product recommendations, customised fertiliser solutions and supporting customers throughout the sales process.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 is mandatory.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in sales, management or agriculture.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the fertiliser industry.
• BASOS certificate is advantageous.
• Own transport is required.
• Good negotiation skills and being a team player are essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep understanding of fertiliser products, their compositions, benefits and application methods.
• Utilise expertise to recommend suitable products and strategies aligned to customer goals.
• Coordinate fertiliser orders with accurate quantities and delivery schedules.
• Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical assistance and address customer inquiries.
• Maintain positive business relationships to generate future sales.
• Develop cost estimates and proposals for customised fertiliser programmes.
• Handle basic fertiliser programmes for crops listed (Wheat, Canola, Barley, Oats, Lupins, Luzern, Cover crops).
• Take soil and leaf samples and monitor crops during the growing season.

Job Summary

This role involves promoting and selling fertiliser products to agricultural customers by providing expert product recommendations and customised fertiliser solutions and identify new business opportunities, support customers throughout the sales process, and ensure the successful implementation of fertiliser programmes.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Developing a deep understanding of various fertiliser products, their compositions, benefits, and application methods
• Utilising fertiliser expertise to recommend suitable products and application strategies that align with the customer’s agricultural goals
• Coordinating fertiliser orders, ensuring accurate quantities and delivery schedules are met
• Providing pre-sales and post-sales technical assistance, addressing customer inquiries and concerns
• Maintaining positive business relationships to future sales
• Developing cost estimates and proposals for fertiliser programs tailored to customers crop needs and budgets
• Basic fertiliser programs (Wheat, Canola, Barley, Oats, Lupins, Luzern and Cover crops)
• Taking of soil and leaf samples
• Crop monitoring during the growing season

Qualifications and Skills
