• Matric / Grade 12 is required.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in sales, management or agriculture preferred.
• 5 years’ experience in the fertiliser industry is required.
• BASOS certificate is advantageous.
• Good negotiation skills are essential.
• Team player with self-discipline and drive.
• Target and goal oriented with computer literacy.
• Own transport to fulfil duties.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep understanding of fertiliser products, compositions and application methods.
• Recommend suitable products and application strategies for agricultural goals.
• Coordinate fertiliser orders, quantities and delivery schedules.
• Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical assistance.
• Maintain relationships to secure future sales.
• Develop cost estimates and proposals for fertiliser programs.
• Support soil sampling and basic fertiliser programs for key crops.
• Monitor crops during the growing season.

Constantia Fertiliser, part of the TWK Group, has the following vacancy available: Fertiliser Sales Agent at Umlaas, KwaZulu-Natal.

Job Summary

This role involves promoting and selling fertiliser products to agricultural customers by providing expert product recommendations and customised fertiliser solutions and identify new business opportunities, support customers throughout the sales process, and ensure the successful implementation of fertiliser programmes.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Developing a deep understanding of various fertiliser products, their compositions, benefits, and application methods
• Utilising fertiliser expertise to recommend suitable products and application strategies that align with the customer’s agricultural goals
• Coordinating fertiliser orders, ensuring accurate quantities and delivery schedules are met
• Providing pre-sales and post-sales technical assistance, addressing customer inquiries and concerns
• Maintaining positive business relationships to future sales
• Developing cost estimates and proposals for fertiliser programs tailored to customers crop needs and budgets
• Basic fertiliser programs (Wheat, Canola, Barley, Oats, Lupins, Luzern and Cover crops)
• Taking of soil and leaf samples
• Crop monitoring during the growing season

Qualifications and Skills
