Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a nurturing Family Support Worker to assist families in Mossel Bay. The role focuses on in-home support, parenting guidance, and connecting families with vital resources to strengthen child welfare in the Western Cape.

You will assess family needs, develop collaborative plans, and maintain confidential records while engaging with the community to expand access to services. A relevant qualification and driving license are required.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Social Work, Child and Youth Care, or related discipline.
• Experience working directly with families in a supportive capacity.
• Understanding of child development and family systems.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to listen actively and build rapport with diverse families.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Mossel Bay region.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home support and practical assistance to families to promote child safety and well-being.
• Conduct family needs assessments and develop collaborative support plans.
