Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance operations for commercial properties in Klerksdorp, North West. You will lead a team of technicians, implement preventive maintenance, and coordinate repairs with contractors to ensure high standards and safety.

You will manage schedules, track work orders, and report on facility performance and budgets while fostering a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a supervisory role within facilities maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of building systems: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural components.
• Experience with preventive maintenance plans.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a maintenance team.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Familiarity with maintenance software and work order systems.
• Solid understanding of health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Trade certification or degree in a related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct the daily activities of the maintenance team, including scheduling and task assignment.
• Develop and implement comprehensive preventive maintenance programs for all building systems.
• Coordinate response to emergency maintenance requests and facility issues.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs.
• Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors, ensuring quality.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, work orders, and inventory.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Assist in budget management for maintenance operations and procurement.
• Provide training and mentorship to maintenance staff.
• Prepare reports on maintenance performance and facility conditions.
• Oversee upkeep of grounds and common areas to ensure a professional appearance.
