Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee our sports facilities in Klerksdorp, North West. You will ensure smooth day-to-day operations, manage staff across cleaning, maintenance and event support, and uphold top safety and cleanliness standards.

Responsibilities include budget control, resource optimization, coordinating with event organizers and implementing preventative maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Business Administration, Sports Management, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in operations management for sports facilities or large venues.
• Proven staff management, budget control and operational planning experience.
• Strong health, safety and security knowledge for sports venues.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in facility management software and MS Office.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays as events require.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of multiple sports facilities to ensure readiness.
• Develop operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and safety.
• Manage facility staff including cleaning crews, maintenance technicians and event support.
• Ensure facilities meet high standards of cleanliness, safety and appearance.
• Develop and manage the operational budget, controlling costs and maximizing efficiency.
• Coordinate with event organizers to execute sporting events and other activities.
• Oversee preventative maintenance programs for equipment and infrastructure.
• Enforce health and safety regulations and conduct regular risk assessments.
• Manage inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Liaise with external contractors and vendors for repairs and specialized services.
• Respond promptly to operational issues and emergencies with effective solutions.
• Contribute to strategic planning and development of new facility initiatives.
