Job summary

Red Ember Recruitment (PTY) Ltd in Franschhoek, South Africa is seeking a Maintenance Handyman to maintain facilities and equipment across client properties. You will handle routine repairs, servicing, electrical, plumbing and general building tasks, while keeping records and inventory up to date.

A proactive, team-oriented approach is essential for this role. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of relevant maintenance experience, basic electrical knowledge, and a matric certificate;

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ general electrical, plumbing, and/or air conditioning repairs and maintenance.
• Hotel or property maintenance experience advantageous.
• Knowledge of safe working procedures for electrical tools and equipment.
• Basic hand tools and electrical knowledge.
• Preference for Franschhoek residents.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and annual servicing of tools and equipment.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from various departments.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues and arrange external service if needed.
• Carry out general handyman tasks including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, painting, and building repairs.
• Respond to building maintenance requests in a timely manner.
• Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, spare parts, and materials.
• Keep detailed records of all maintenance activities and repairs.
