Job summary

Bidvest Facilities Management in Umhlanga Rocks seeks a hands-on handyman to perform timeous and quality planned, preventive and emergency maintenance on specified equipment. Role includes following work orders, minor repairs on electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems, and assisting the Artisan with major repairs while reporting restoration status to management.

Requirements: Matric, N3 in Electrical/Mechanical, valid SA driver’s license, 3 years of handyman maintenance experience, and knowledge

Qualifications

• Matric (Senior Certificate)
• N3 Technical (Electrical/Mechanical)
• Valid SA Drivers License
• 3yrs relevant experience in Handyman maintenance tasks
• Basic training on hand tools, electrical and mechanical equipment
• Knowledge of OHS Act & ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks on work orders per Client and Company requirements
• Conduct investigations, evaluation and restorations on identified equipment malfunction
• Carry out minor repairs and service on electrical equipment and appliances as per SLA
• Carry out office movement tasks: install furniture, shop fitting, doors, locks, windows, ceiling and carpet tiles, paint work
• Carry out minor repairs and service on plumbing equipment as per SLA
• Perform tier 1 inspections and repairs on air-con equipment
• Inspect fire & access equipment; extinguishers, hose reels, hydrants, detectors & access control
• Assist Artisan with major repairs and services
• Provide feedback to Facilities Manager on restoration status of operations
