Placements24 is seeking a proficient Facilities Engineer to manage and optimize oil and gas processing facilities in Vereeniging, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient operation of all plant infrastructure.

You will lead design modifications, maintenance planning, and troubleshooting of complex operational issues, with a hybrid work model that blends on-site facility management with remote administrative tasks, contributing to operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in facilities engineering within oil and gas processing.
• Strong knowledge of process design, P&IDs, mechanical equipment (pumps, compressors, vessels), and instrumentation.
• Experience with project management methodologies and HAZOP studies.
• Familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS) and asset integrity management.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of new process equipment and modifications to existing facilities.
• Develop and implement robust mechanical integrity programs to ensure the safety and reliability of plant assets.
• Troubleshoot operational problems related to process efficiency, equipment performance, and safety systems.
• Manage maintenance activities, including planning, scheduling, and execution of preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and environmental requirements.
