Job summary

Placements24 on behalf of a premier hotel in Upington, Northern Cape, seeks an experienced Food and Beverage Director. This leadership role oversees all F&B operations across restaurants, bars, banqueting, and room service, with a focus on culinary excellence and guest satisfaction.

You will lead a diverse team, develop menus, manage inventory and costs, ensure health and safety compliance, and drive profitability through strategic planning and revenue initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in Food & Beverage management.
• Proven track record managing multiple F&B outlets and driving revenue.
• Strong culinary knowledge and menu costing.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of inventory control, purchasing, and cost management.
• Familiarity with hotel management systems and F&B software.
• Certification in Food Safety and Hygiene.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Experience in the Northern Cape region is advantageous but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily F&B operations across all outlets, ensuring quality and guest service.
• Develop menus, pricing, and promotions for all F&B outlets.
• Lead F&B staff: recruitment, training, scheduling, performance management.
• Control costs: inventory, procurement, waste reduction.
• Drive revenue and profitability through strategic planning.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations.
• Collaborate with Executive Chef on menus and culinary quality.
• Manage banqueting and events, ensuring successful execution.
• Monitor trends and implement best practices to enhance F&B offering.
