Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced EYFS Coordinator for a premier international school in Pretoria, Gauteng. You will lead the foundation stage for ages 2–5, shape the curriculum, and support staff while ensuring high standards of care and learning.

You will oversee operations, monitor progress, and maintain strong home-school partnerships. The role requires leadership, English proficiency, and a passion for early childhood education within an internationally-oriented setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Recognized EYFS qualification or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years in early years education, with at least 2 years in a leadership or coordination role.
• In-depth knowledge of the EYFS framework and assessment methods.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in an international school setting is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in English is essential; additional languages are an asset.
• Willingness to undergo enhanced background checks.

Responsibilities

• Leading and managing the EYFS team with professional development and support.
• Developing, implementing, and reviewing the EYFS curriculum aligned with international best practices.
• Overseeing daily operations of the foundation stage including resources and safety.
• Monitoring student progress and wellbeing, addressing individual needs.
• Liaising with parents and fostering strong home-school partnerships.
• Ensuring compliance with educational regulations and school policies.
• Organizing EYFS events, parent workshops, and transition programs.
• Mentoring new teachers in the EYFS department.
• Upholding the school's vision, mission, and values in the foundation stage.
