Placements24 seeks an experienced EYFS Lead Teacher for a preschool in Bloemfontein. You will lead curriculum delivery, guide a team of early years practitioners, and ensure top quality education and care for children aged 3–5.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Early Childhood Education (ECE) required or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with children aged 3–5 in early years settings.
• Lead or supervisory experience is highly advantageous.

• Proficiency in EYFS framework.

About the Role

Our client, an international preschool renowned for its commitment to child-centered learning, is looking for an experienced and passionate Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Lead Teacher to join their vibrant team in Bloemfontein, Free State . This role is ideal for an educator who is dedicated to creating a nurturing, stimulating, and play-based learning environment for young children. The EYFS Lead Teacher will be responsible for overseeing the curriculum implementation, guiding a team of early years practitioners, and ensuring the highest standards of education and care. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the EYFS framework and a genuine love for working with children in their formative years.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of the EYFS curriculum, ensuring a high-quality learning experience for all children.
• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote children's holistic development (cognitive, physical, social, emotional, and creative).
• Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate records and providing constructive feedback to parents/guardians.
• Guide and support a team of early years practitioners, fostering a positive and collaborative working atmosphere.
• Ensure the safety, health, and well-being of all children at all times, adhering to stringent safety policies.
• Create and maintain an inspiring, stimulating, and well-organized learning environment.
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, building strong partnerships to support children's learning journey.
• Organize and lead parent workshops and school events related to early years education.
• Stay updated on best practices in early childhood education and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Bloemfontein preschool.

Requirements

• A recognized qualification in Early Childhood Education (e.g., NQF Level 4/5, Diploma in ECE, or equivalent).
• A strong understanding and practical experience with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working with young children (ages 3-5) in an early years setting.
• Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role within an early years setting is highly advantageous.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Passion for early childhood education and a nurturing approach to childcare.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and manage staff.
• Knowledge of child protection policies and procedures.
• Proficiency in English is essential; knowledge of additional languages is a plus for the Free State community.
