Qualifikationen

• Solid Clearing and Forwarding Exports experience is required.

Aufgaben

• Register shipments and frame EDI Bills of Entries (Export - Sea freight) to SARS within the prescribed period.
• Submit cargo dues via Shipshape or Ports On Line.
• Process VOCs and certificates (Certificate of Origins, EUR1, SADC, GSP).
• Ensure accuracy of source documents and data; check for errors.
• Coordinate with shipping lines for final release and Navis updates.
• Support team and work unsupervised when needed.
• Stay updated on industry changes.

Job Position: Exports Customs Controller

Ref: 4661

Salary: R20 000 to R25 000 per month CTC commensurate with experience and qualification

Minimum Requirements:

1. Certification in Customs Clearing and Forwarding (Logistics Diploma will be an advantage)
2. Extensive knowledge of the customs and excise requirements
3. Extensive computer and intermediate level Excel experience
4. Working knowledge of ShipShape
5. Solid Clearing and Forwarding Exports experience required
6. Sound knowledge of shipping documents and procedures required
7. Attention to detail and accuracy
8. Ability to deal with repetition and cope under stress / volumes and able to prioritize
9. Willingness to work long hours in season
10. Own transport to work and back essential – no public transport
11. Willingness to work overtime
12. Knowledge of Customs and Excise requirements for movement of goods outside South Africa
13. Good mathematical and analytical skill sets
14. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with the ability to assist with problem-solving and delivering on expectations
15. Working experience of 4 to 5 years in Operations through Export activities for medium / large business

Key Performance Areas:

1. Registration of shipments on Shipshape
2. Frame and EDI Bills of Entries (Export - Sea freight focused) to SARS within the prescribed period according to the SARS Act
3. Submission of cargo dues via Shipshape or Ports On Line
4. Processing of VOC's
5. Check the accuracy of source documents and information, double-checking data and a keen eye for picking up errors or potential errors
6. Processing of Certificate of Origins, EUR1, SADC and GSP certificates
7. Knowledge of break bulk and bulk shipments
8. Processing landing delivery and forwarding orders
9. Submission of relevant documents to the shipping lines for final release and Navis update
10. Knowledge of Import / Export Control Act
11. Must be able to work within a team and also work unsupervised
12. Staying abreast of industry changes
