Job summary

West Coast Personnel in Wes-Kaap is seeking an experienced Export Supervisor to lead the export team, coordinate orders, and ensure on-time delivery across international markets. You will liaise with production, freight forwarders, and QC to manage documentation, rates, and stock movements, while maintaining accurate pricing and timely communications.

The role requires strong numerical, organizational and problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle multiple orders under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in exports, shipping or international logistics.
• Understanding of export process from order to shipment.
• Experience with freight forwarders, couriers, air/sea freight.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the export team, allocate work and monitor daily targets.
• Process export orders and maintain regular communication with international customers.
• Coordinate with production, stores and other departments to meet delivery deadlines.
• Arrange courier, airfreight and sea-freight shipments.
• Prepare and submit accurate export and shipping documentation.
• Obtain and negotiate freight rates with forwarders and shipping lines.
• Prepare invoices, credits, stock transfers and backflushing transactions.
• Monitor backorders and ensure orders are dispatched accurately and on time.
• Issue quotations, samples and order acknowledgements.
• Coordinate export packaging, pallets and related materials.
• Assist with stock control, stock takes and forecasting.
• Liaise with Quality Control regarding customer complaints and product-related issues.
• Maintain accurate customer pricing and product information on the system.
• Monitor departmental timesheets, attendance and leave.

• Good numerical, organisational and problem-solving ability.
• Able to manage multiple orders, priorities and deadlines accurately.
• Comfortable working closely with production, stores, stock control and Quality Control.
• Willing to remain operationally involved and work in the detail.
