Job summary

Red Ember Recruitment is seeking an Export Clerk for our client in Cape Town. You will capture/export bookings, handle notices to shippers, monitor vessel stacks, and manage preloading processes. The role requires accuracy, punctuality, and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Ideal candidates will have maritime experience, strong computer skills, and professional communication when dealing with third parties.

Qualifications

• Minimum NQF level 6 with maritime experience.
• Attention to detail and strict adherence to rules and regulations.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to plan, organise and work under minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

• Capture/export bookings on SOL and confirm to shippers.
• Broadcast notices to shippers for export matters, e.g., stack dates.
• Monitor bookings and vessel stacks.
• Complete preloading process for vessels.
• Receive and pass shipping instructions for data capture.
• Proofread and amend bill of lading data.
• Obtain shipping documents from shippers.
• Maintain export rate of exchange and vessel sailing dates.
• Process invoices and follow up on payments.
• Print, stamp and release original bill of ladings.
• Filing and handling customer queries.

Duties

• Capture / processing of export bookings on SOL confirming to shippers.
• Broadcasting notices to shippers for export matters e.g. stack dates.
• Monitor bookings and vessel stacks.
• Complete preloading process for vessels.
• Receive and on pass Shipping Instructions to our Mapping division for data capture.
• Proofreading and amendments to bill of lading data.
• Obtaining relevant shipping customs documents (cargo dues order/export bill of entry) from shippers.
• Maintain export rate of exchange and vessel sailing dates.
• Process invoices and send them to concerned parties.
• Follow up on payments.
• Printing, stamping and release of original bill of ladings.
