Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Drilling Supervisor to manage exploration drilling operations near Queenstown. This hands‑on role ensures safe, efficient execution of drilling programs, overseeing crews, equipment and consumables while maintaining detailed logs and sample data for resource evaluation.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years in exploration drilling, with 2+ years in supervision, strong leadership and safety culture, and the ability to work in remote locations for

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in exploration drilling, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience with drilling techniques (RC, core drilling).
• Strong understanding of drill rig operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Valid driver's license and ability to work in remote locations for extended periods.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• First Aid and relevant safety certifications are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of drilling crews and equipment on exploration sites.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and company policies during drilling operations.
• Manage drilling consumables, equipment maintenance, and logistics to ensure continuous operations.
• Maintain accurate drilling logs, including geological intervals, depths, and sample collection details.
• Liaise with geologists to ensure core quality, sampling procedures, and data integrity.
• Train and mentor drillers and offsiders, promoting a culture of safety and efficiency.
