Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a talented Structural Engineer for our Pretoria-based consultancy to design and analyze structural systems for diverse buildings, ensuring safety and compliance with SANS codes.

You will collaborate with architects and engineers, contribute to project delivery, and pursue professional development with flexible work options.

Candidates should have a degree (BEng/BSc), Pr.Eng eligibility, at least five years' experience, and proficiency in SAP2000/Etabs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering with a structural focus.
• Pr.Eng registration with ECSA or eligibility to obtain it.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in structural design.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software and building codes (SANS).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze structural systems for new buildings and renovations using relevant codes and standards.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculation reports.
• Collaborate effectively with architects, project managers, and other consultants throughout the design process.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Perform structural assessments and provide recommendations for existing structures.
