Our client, a prominent logistics and delivery service provider, is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Experienced Delivery Driver to join their dynamic team in George, Western Cape . You will be entrusted with valuable cargo and expected to represent our client with professionalism and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a variety of vehicles, ranging from light commercial vans to larger trucks, depending on the cargo and delivery requirements.
• Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently to meet scheduled timelines, utilizing GPS and other navigation tools effectively.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and report any mechanical issues promptly.
• Load and unload goods with care, ensuring proper handling and securing of all items to prevent damage.
• Provide exceptional customer service upon delivery, confirming recipient details and obtaining necessary signatures.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and records, including proof of delivery and any exceptions encountered.
• Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations at all times.
• Communicate effectively with the dispatch team and management regarding any delays, issues, or deviations from the planned route.
• Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner at all times.

Requirements

• A valid professional driver's license (Code 10 or higher) with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with experience in logistics or a similar industry within George, Western Cape .
• Excellent knowledge of the George, Western Cape area and surrounding routes.
• Demonstrated ability to operate various types of commercial vehicles safely and competently.
• Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy packages when necessary.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including potential weekends or evenings, depending on business needs.
• Previous experience with electronic proof of delivery (ePOD) systems is a plus.
