Qualifications

• Valid Code 10 (C1) or Code 14 (EC) driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Professional Driver’s Permit (PDP) is essential.
• Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a professional driver, preferably in delivery/logistics in Pietermaritzburg or surrounding areas.
• Good knowledge of the local road network and traffic patterns in KwaZulu-Natal.
• Physical fitness and ability to lift and carry heavy packages when required.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective client interaction.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and maneuver company vehicles, ranging from light commercial vans to medium-duty trucks, in various traffic and weather conditions within and around Pietermaritzburg.
• Plan and execute daily delivery routes efficiently, ensuring adherence to schedules and optimal fuel consumption.
• Load and unload goods carefully, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues or necessary maintenance promptly.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, records of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or delays encountered.
• Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, interacting professionally with clients and obtaining necessary signatures.
• Comply with all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations at all times.
• Utilize navigation equipment and delivery management software effectively.
• Represent Our client in a professional and courteous manner.
