Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a state-of-the-art petrochemical plant in Pretoria. You will drive safe, efficient, and profitable operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations while delivering performance targets.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (Master's/MBA a plus), with 10+ years in petrochemical plant operations and at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering; Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in petrochemical or chemical plant operations, with at least 5 years in a management role.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale industrial operations and ensuring process safety.
• Strong leadership, strategic planning, and financial management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of plant operations, including production, maintenance, and logistics, to achieve production targets and quality standards.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance safety performance.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies.
• Manage the operational budget, control expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Lead, motivate, and develop a team of operations supervisors and plant personnel.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and supply chain departments to optimize plant performance and manage capital projects.
• Implement and manage process safety management (PSM) systems and protocols.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
