Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Chemical Plant Operations Engineer to manage and optimize daily plant operations in Centurion. You will troubleshoot process upsets, implement continuous improvement, and lead the operations team to meet production targets.

The ideal candidate has a BEng in Chemical Engineering with 8+ years in chemical plant operations, and a strong grasp of safety, PSM, and process control systems.

Qualifications

• BEng in Chemical Engineering or equivalent professional qualification.
• 8+ years of experience in chemical plant operations or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of process safety management and environmental regulations.
• Proven ability to lead teams and drive operational improvements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily chemical plant operations, ensuring schedules and quality.
• Troubleshoot process upsets and equipment failures with corrective actions.
• Develop and implement SOPs for plant processes and maintenance.
• Manage operational budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure strict health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Train and mentor operators and technicians for safety and excellence.
