Mindcor-InterSearch in Johannesburg is seeking an accomplished underground mining and ground support executive to drive commercial growth and strategic leadership. The role blends deep technical mining expertise with strong commercial judgment to accelerate growth locally and internationally.

The successful candidate will manage major negotiations, develop long-term client relationships, and mentor teams across Sales, Manufacturing and Distribution while traveling ~50% to support international

Qualifications

• Extensive practical experience in underground mining and ground support.
• Proven international business development and distributor experience.
• Executive-level leadership, strategic planning, and major contract negotiation track record.
• Degree in Mining, Civil, Mechanical, Rock or Geotechnical Engineering is advantageous; MBA would help.

Shape the Future of Underground Mining Solutions

An exceptional opportunity exists for an accomplished underground mining and ground support professional to step into a strategic executive leadership role within an established mining solutions business.

Working alongside the current Sales and Marketing Executive, the successful candidate will transition into broader commercial leadership, combining deep technical mining expertise with strong commercial judgement and executive capability to drive the next phase of growth. With approximately 50% local and international travel, the role will focus on strengthening the established South African business while accelerating international expansion through mining houses, distributors, consultants, and strategic partners.

Key Focus Areas:

• Lead the commercial strategy and drive sustainable growth across local and international markets.
• Build and strengthen strategic relationships with mining houses, distributors, EPCM firms and consulting engineers.
• Provide technical leadership across underground mining, ground support, rock reinforcement, and related support systems.
• Identify new markets, strategic partnerships, and product opportunities to expand the international footprint.
• Lead major commercial negotiations and develop long-term customer relationships.
• Provide market and technical insight into emerging mining trends, technologies, and customer requirements.
• Mentor commercial teams and drive collaboration across Sales, Manufacturing and Distribution.

Experience & Educational Requirements:

• Extensive practical experience in underground mining and ground support, with strong industry credibility.
• Proven expertise in ground support systems, rock reinforcement, resin technology, roof bolting, cable support, or related applications.
• Strong understanding of underground mining methods, ground behaviour, and support design principles.
• Proven track record in international business development, distributor development, or strategic commercial growth.
• Executive-level experience in commercial leadership, strategic planning, and major contract negotiations.
• A degree in Mining, Civil, Mechanical, Rock or Geotechnical Engineering would be advantageous.
• Postgraduate business qualifications would be beneficial.
• Exceptional industry experience will be considered in lieu of formal academic qualifications.
