Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marketing and Sales Manager to drive the sales and marketing strategy for our strata control products in the mining sector across South Africa and sub‑Saharan Africa. This is a hands‑on role requiring both strategic leadership and direct customer management. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of underground roof support systems, specifically cable anchors, and will be responsible for guiding and supporting the sales team while maintaining key client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sales & Business Development: Identify and develop new business opportunities for strata control products, expanding our customer base in the mining industry.
• Customer Relationship Management: Directly manage a portfolio of key clients while mentoring and supporting the sales team in handling other accounts.
• Marketing Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement targeted marketing campaigns to position our products effectively in the mining sector.
• Technical Consultation: Provide technical advice and product demonstrations to clients, showcasing the benefits of our strata control solutions.
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the sales team, setting sales targets, tracking performance, and providing strategic guidance.
• Industry Networking: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including mining engineers, procurement teams, and decision‑makers.
• Market Analysis & Strategy Development: Conduct market research to understand customer needs, competitor activities, and industry trends.
• Travel: Be prepared to travel extensively within South Africa and across sub‑Saharan Africa to visit clients and support the sales team.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing; or, Bachelor’s degree in Rock Engineering, Mining, Geotechnical or other Engineering discipline with a post graduate diploma in Marketing.
• Industry Experience: Experience in the underground mining sector. Experience in underground roof support and strata control solutions would be beneficial.
• Strong knowledge of cable anchors and associated support systems.
• Sales & Marketing Expertise: Proven track record in sales, business development, and marketing. Sales and marketing expertise within the mining industry would be beneficial.
• Technical Proficiency: Ability to engage with mining professionals, understand technical challenges, and offer appropriate solutions.
• Leadership & Team Management: Experience in leading and managing a sales team, setting goals, and driving performance.
• Communication & Negotiation Skills: Strong ability to communicate effectively with both technical and commercial stakeholders.
• Willingness to Travel: Must be prepared to travel extensively across South Africa and sub‑Saharan Africa.
