Job summary

Milpark Education in South Africa seeks a Senior Academic Designer for Learning and Teaching in Banking and Financial Services. You will lead development of innovative strategies, align with Milpark’s educational quality goals, and act as an institutional SME for banking curriculum innovation and industry engagement.

The role requires senior design capability, a Master’s/Doctorate in related fields, and substantial banking/financial services experience within higher education.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate in Banking, Finance, Financial Services, Economics, Business, Commerce or closely related field plus substantial professional banking/financial services experience
• Master’s or Doctorate in Education plus relevant postgraduate commerce/banking/finance qualification and banking/financial services experience

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of innovative learning and teaching strategies aligned with Milpark’s educational quality vision
• Collaborate with faculties and designers to design academic programmes and qualifications with innovative teaching methodologies
• Lead conversations with faculty and leadership to drive changes in delivery
• Design experiential learning opportunities including applied research projects and industry engagement
• Establish measures to evaluate learning innovations and support continuous improvement
• Facilitate workshops to build faculty capability in innovative learning approaches
• Build relationships with schools, operations teams, and industry partners
• Provide strategic leadership on Milpark’s educational technology ecosystem
• Support curriculum reviews and advise on design and development of learning solutions
• Encourage research and scholarly engagement to enhance teaching and student experience
• Create and revise resources informing Milpark’s approach to learning and teaching
• Review work of learning and instructional designers and provide feedback
• Stay abreast of technologies and pedagogical developments
• Collaborate with industry to propose relevant learning solutions
• Act as custodian of Milpark’s learning and teaching philosophy
