Job summary

MVG Recruitment is seeking an Executive CA(SA) for a 6-12 month on-site contract in North Johannesburg to take control of complex group finance deliverables, drive audit close-out, and resolve IFRS issues from day one. The successful candidate will lead group close processes, own IFRS matters, produce management reports with variances and trends, and develop three-statement models and rolling cash flows.

Qualifications

• CA(SA) with 10+ years PQE and senior group finance leadership.
• Proven track record in closing complex group audits and resolving IFRS matters.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability.
• Experience with multi-entity consolidation and intercompany transactions.
• Experience reviewing corporate tax returns.
• Ability to operate independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Immediate availability or short-notice commencement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and finalise group financial close processes and Annual Financial Statements.
• Own all IFRS technical matters, providing authoritative interpretation.
• Drive audit close-out across multiple subsidiaries, managing PBC items, resolving findings with external auditors.
• Produce sharp, insight-rich management reporting including variance analysis and performance trends.
• Build and enhance integrated three-statement financial models and rolling cash-flow forecasts.
• Develop advanced pricing, profitability, scenario and DCF models to support strategic initiatives.
• Support tax computations and review corporate tax submissions.
• Strengthen finance processes, improve controls, and execute high-priority strategic finance projects.

Introduction

A high-performing, multi-entity organisation is seeking an Executive Level CA(SA) for a 6-12 month on-site contract in North Johannesburg. This mandate requires a senior CA(SA) who can immediately take control of complex group finance deliverables, drive audit close-out, resolve IFRS issues, and produce high-quality financial models and reporting outputs without reliance on extensive team support. This is a role for a technically exceptional executor who thrives under pressure and delivers from day one.

Key Activities

• Lead and finalise group financial close processes and Annual Financial Statements.


• Own all IFRS technical matters, providing authoritative interpretation and resolving complex accounting positions.


• Drive audit close-out across multiple subsidiaries, managing PBC items, resolving findings, and engaging confidently with external auditors.


• Produce sharp, insight-rich management reporting, including variance analysis and performance trends for executive decision-making.


• Build and enhance integrated three-statement financial models and rolling cash-flow forecasts.


• Develop advanced pricing, profitability, scenario and DCF models to support strategic initiatives.


• Support tax computations and review corporate tax submissions across local and offshore entities.


• Strengthen finance processes, improve controls, and execute high-priority strategic finance projects.

Key Requirements

• CA(SA) with 10+ years PQE and senior group finance leadership experience.


• Proven track record in closing complex group audits and resolving IFRS matters.


• Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability, including three-statement and cash-flow models.


• Strong exposure to multi-entity consolidation, intercompany transactions and offshore structures.


• Experience reviewing or completing corporate tax returns.


• Ability to operate independently, manage tight deadlines and deliver high-quality outputs under pressure.


• Exceptional communication, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
