Key Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting processes and consolidate 14 legal entities with a turnover of over 20 billion ZAR.
- Ensure accurate and compliant reporting in line with IFRS and group reporting requirements.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and financial reviews.
- Prepare detailed management reporting and provide meaningful financial insights to senior stakeholders.
- Manage technical accounting matters and ensure appropriate application of accounting standards.
- Drive strong financial controls, governance and compliance across the reporting environment.
- Partner with operational and commercial stakeholders to understand business performance and identify financial risks and opportunities.
- Lead, mentor and develop members of the finance team.
Job Experience and Skills Required
Education:
Experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years post-articles experience.
- Strong experience in financial reporting and management accounting.
- Proven IFRS and technical accounting knowledge.
- Experience within a large, complex or multinational organisation is advantageous.
- Experience managing and developing a finance team.
- Exposure to budgeting, forecasting and commercial finance.
- Experience within mining, heavy equipment, industrial, engineering, manufacturing or a related environment would be advantageous.
Skills:
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong ERP exposure; SAP and Hyperion experience would be advantageous.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving ability.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail with the ability to operate in a deadline‑driven environment.
