Placements24 in Welkom, Free State, is offering an Event Planning Assistant internship to support a busy events team. You will assist with client communication, event setup, vendor coordination, and on-site support to contribute to diverse events.

This hands-on role provides learning opportunities in hospitality, with mentorship from experienced event professionals and exposure to budgeting, vendor relations, and venue coordination.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Event Management, Marketing, or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Flexible hours including some evenings and weekends for events.

Responsibilities

• Assist event planners with administrative tasks such as scheduling, correspondence, and filing.
• Communicate with clients to confirm event details, dietary requirements, and special requests.
• Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and venue staff for smooth event execution.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of event spaces, including decor and equipment.
• Provide on-site support during events to ensure client satisfaction.
