Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly organized Event Planner specializing in sports events to work remotely. You will manage all aspects of planning from concept to post-event analysis for events in and around Klerksdorp, North West.

The role requires independent work and strong coordination across venues, vendors and marketing teams. The ideal candidate will have proven sports event planning experience, solid project management and excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and proactive Event Planner specializing in sports events, to work remotely. This role involves managing all aspects of event planning and execution, from conceptualization to post-event analysis, for various sporting competitions and activities in and around Klerksdorp . You will coordinate venues, logistics, vendors, and marketing efforts, ensuring successful and memorable events. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for delivering exceptional sports experiences, working independently to ensure all event objectives in North West are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and execute a diverse range of sports events, including tournaments and community sports days.
• Source and secure suitable venues, negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers.
• Develop detailed event budgets and manage expenses to ensure profitability.
• Create and implement marketing and promotional plans to drive attendance and engagement.
• Oversee event logistics, including scheduling, staffing, and on-site management (as required).
• Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

• Proven experience in event planning and management, with a focus on sports events.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in event management software and standard office applications.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage tasks efficiently.
• A degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Sports Management, or a related field is preferred.
