Job summary

CareerCare-SA is seeking a hands-on Event Operations Manager for Green Point, Cape Town, to oversee planning, coordination and execution of event operations while delivering exceptional service.

You will lead staff, manage beverage stock, coordinate logistics and ensure health and safety, liquor licensing and venue compliance for large-scale events, with flexibility to work evenings and weekends. The role requires strong leadership, clear communication and a hands-on approach to operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in operational management, preferably events.
• Diploma/degree in Event or Project Management.
• Experience managing medium to large-scale events.
• Stadium or beverage operations experience is advantageous.
• Proven experience supervising operational teams.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• MS Office proficiency.
• Valid driver’s licence and own transport.
• Willing to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Our client is a leading event beverage operations company delivering premium bar and beverage services at some of South Africa’s largest sporting, entertainment and corporate events.

They are looking for a hands-on Event Operations Manager to oversee the planning, coordination and successful execution of event operations while ensuring exceptional service delivery and operational excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan and coordinate and oversee event operations from setup through breakdown.


• Lead, schedule and supervise event staff and operational teams.


• Manage beverage stock planning, movement and reconciliations.


• Coordinate event logistics, equipment and supplier activities.


• Ensure compliance with health & safety, liquor licensing and venue regulations.


• Monitor event performance, resolve operational challenges and maintain high service standards.


• Prepare post-event reports and assist with operational improvements.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in operational management, preferably within the events industry.


• Relevant Diploma or Degree in Event or Project Management.


• Experience managing medium to large-scale events.


• Stadium, sporting, hospitality or beverage operations experience is advantageous.


• Proven experience managing and supervising operational teams.


• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.


• Computer literate (MS Office).


• Valid driver’s licence and own transport.


• Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
