Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in catering or hospitality.
• Ability to lead and motivate teams in high-pressure event settings.
• Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards and event etiquette.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good organizational and time-management skills for Vereeniging events.
• Flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in food service.
• Proactive hands-on supervision approach.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct catering staff during event setup, service, and breakdown.
• Ensure all staff adhere to service standards, hygiene protocols, and safety regulations.
• Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams to ensure timely delivery of food and beverages.
• Manage guest interactions and address concerns or special requests promptly.
• Conduct pre-event briefings outlining event details, roles, and expectations.
• Oversee setup of buffet stations, bar areas, and dining tables per event specs.
• Monitor consumption and assist with stock management during events.
• Ensure cleanliness and presentation of service areas throughout the event.
• Train new staff on service procedures and company standards.
• Liaise with Event Manager or client representative on-site for smooth operations.
