Job summary

Old Mutual Limited is seeking a senior strategist to lead the Strategy Office, translating enterprise ambition into priority actions and ensuring alignment with financial plans and customer outcomes.

The role oversees strategy development, planning and performance, partnering with senior leadership to deliver enterprise priorities and value creation. Strong leadership and strategic insight are essential for executive-level decision support.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate or tertiary qualification in Commerce, Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, Engineering, Strategy or a related discipline; MBA or equivalent is advantageous.
• Typically 8+ years of relevant experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, financial services, insurance, corporate finance, transformation or related fields, including experience leading complex strategic workstreams.
• Strong commercial, quantitative and financial acumen; insurance or broader financial-services experience is strongly advantageous.
• People leadership experience and evidence of coaching and developing high-performing talent.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation of the Strategy Office and act as deputy to the Head of Strategy.
• Translate enterprise strategy into an architecture of strategic priorities, outcomes, measures and accountabilities.
• Oversee the enterprise KPI and priority monitoring cycle with risks, dependencies and corrective actions.
• Build trusted relationships with senior leaders and key Group functions as a credible thought partner.
• Represent the Strategy Office in senior internal and external engagements with clarity.
