Job summary

ABB is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager in Johannesburg to lead a design and engineering team delivering high-quality, cost-effective solutions. You will allocate resources, drive continual improvement, and ensure delivery aligns with contract specifications and safety standards.

In this hybrid role, you will mentor engineers across electrical, electronic and software disciplines, promote agile practices, and enhance cybersecurity maturity while maintaining strong stakeholder

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• Enhanced knowledge of ABB electrification and automation products and services.
• Degree in Engineering; proven experience in electrical, electronic and software engineering practices.
• Excellent communication in English.
• Current South African driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to the engineering team focusing on functional safety, cybersecurity, on-time delivery, quality and margin improvement.
• Ensure projects/operations follow internal standard procedures and contract specifications.
• Initiate and oversee continual improvement of processes to reduce lead time and strengthen engineering capability.
• Drive team performance to meet deliverables and safety, cybersecurity and quality requirements.
