Job summary

ABB in Johannesburg seeks a seasoned warehouse leader to plan, direct and monitor all warehouse activities for the ELSE division. You will oversee receipt, storage, picking and dispatch of products, materials and services on-site, and contribute to annual budget planning.

The role requires 10–15 years in MV/LV switchgear production, strong SAP and material planning knowledge, and proven leadership. English fluency and a valid EB driving license are essential.

Qualifications

• 10-15 years of experience in MV & LV switchgear factory production and equipment service.
• Enhanced knowledge of SAP and Material Planning.
• Degree/ Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong leadership and English communication skills.
• Valid EB driving license in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and monitor all warehouse activities including receipt, storage, picking and dispatch of products, systems and services to customers.
• Develop and manage the annual warehouse budget and ensure cost-effective operations.
• Improve warehouse operations using lean practices and optimize utilization of space and inventory.
• Monitor stock control and processing orders, ensuring systems are up to date and compliant.

This position reports to: Local Division Manager ELSE

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to plan, direct, and monitor all activities in the warehouse. Each day, you will develop and manage warehouse operations to effectively control the receipt, storage, picking, and dispatch of products, systems, and services to customers. You will also showcase your expertise by proposing and managing the annual warehouse budget.

The work model for the role is: Onsite

This role is contributing to the ELSE Division /Electrification Business area in South Africa.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Operating within the approved budget and managing the warehouse staff activities to optimize resource utilization and determines corrective actions for cost-related issues as necessary.
• Improving warehouse operations using lean practices.
• Planning and optimizing warehouse utilization and inventory.
• Monitoring the storage, delivery, and dispatch of orders and keeping stock control systems up to date; and overseeing stock control and processing orders.

Qualifications For The Role

• You are immersed in working with Mining, Oil & Gas, Industry, Utilities market
• 10-15 years of experience in MV & LV Switchgear factory production and equipment service
• (OPTIONAL: working with Reyrolle Switchgear
• Possess an enhanced knowledge of SAP and Material Planning
• You are passionate about leadership
• Degree/ Diploma in Electrical Engineering
• You are at ease communicating in English
• You hold current EB driving licenses valid in South Africa
