Job summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking an Engine Workshop/Field Service Technician - Apprentice in Limpopo, Lephalale. The role supports workshop operations, learns repair techniques, and maintains documentation while adhering to safety standards.

The program focuses on hands-on repair of mechanical and electrical products, with training aligned to local requirements. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel are required, and local candidates may be prioritized.

Qualifications

• National Senior Certificate (Matric) with grade 12.
• N6 Mechanical Engineering with four subjects including Math/Mechanics/Mechanical Drawing/Power Machines.
• N2 or N3 Engineering studies with Math and Engineering subjects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with workshop operations and keep the workspace clean and organized.
• Disassemble and inspect engines or power generators and perform basic repairs.
• Learn Standard Repair Times (SRTs) and follow procedures for maintenance tasks.
• Assist with documentation such as work sheets and time sheets for accurate records.
• Complete trainings aligned with skill and business requirements.
• Care for tools and equipment and ensure they are ready for use.
• Adhere to Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures.
