Placements24 seeks an Energy Storage Systems Specialist in Polokwane to design, integrate, and optimize battery energy storage solutions for grid-scale, commercial, and industrial use. The role requires strong knowledge of battery chemistries, PCS, and BMS, plus experience in simulation and control development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in the design, deployment, or operation of energy storage systems.
• Strong understanding of battery chemistries, power conversion systems (PCS), and battery management systems (BMS).
• Familiarity with grid interconnection requirements and energy market operations.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer battery energy storage systems (BESS), including component selection, system architecture, and integration strategies.
• Develop control strategies and algorithms for BESS to optimize performance for various applications (e.g., peak shaving, frequency regulation, renewable energy integration).
