• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with a focus on power systems or electronics.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in design, development, or integration of energy storage or power electronics.
• Knowledge of battery chemistries (Li-ion), BMS, and inverters.
• Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for modeling/simulation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and engineer integrated energy storage systems, including battery selection, power conversion, and control systems.
• Develop system architecture and specifications for BESS projects.
• Conduct performance modeling and simulation of energy storage systems.
• Oversee the procurement, installation, and commissioning of BESS projects.
• Develop and implement control strategies for optimal system operation and energy management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to BESS hardware and software.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, electrical codes, and industry standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on power systems or electronics.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in the design, development, or integration of energy storage systems or power electronics.
• Strong understanding of battery chemistries (e.g., Li-ion), battery management systems (BMS), and inverters.
• Proficiency in system modeling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink).
• Familiarity with grid codes and interconnection standards for energy storage.
• Experience with energy management systems (EMS) and SCADA.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Must reside in or be willing to commute to Benoni, Gauteng.
