Job summary

Assegai Recruitment (Pty) Ltd is seeking an experienced Project Engineer with a strong background in energy and infrastructure to lead delivery of complex projects in South Africa. You will develop execution plans, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure compliance with design standards and permitting.

You will manage risks, engage stakeholders from government bodies and communities, oversee quality control and report progress to senior management, applying best practices in renewable

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration.
• Experience managing complex energy and infrastructure projects.
• Renewable energy experience, including wind, solar or other sustainable power projects.
• A sound understanding of construction processes and project delivery.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, risk management and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
• Relevant certification or registration, such as CEM or SACPCMP.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement detailed project execution plans.
• Coordinate technical activities with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ensure compliance with design standards, legal and environmental requirements, and relevant permits.
• Identify and manage project risks.
• Build and maintain relationships with government bodies, communities, suppliers, contractors and project teams.
• Oversee quality control to ensure projects meet performance objectives and client requirements.
• Monitor project progress and report to senior management and stakeholders.
• Apply technical knowledge of energy and infrastructure, incorporating best practices into project delivery.
