Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a knowledgeable Legal Advisor specializing in Employment Law to join the team in Paarl. The role focuses on providing expert guidance on employment-related legal matters, ensuring compliance with labour legislation, and supporting HR in managing employee relations.

You will develop and implement employment policies, advise on disputes, and contribute to the HR and legal functions in a professional Western Cape setting.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Employment Law.
• In-depth knowledge of Labour Relations Act, BCEA and related legislation.
• Experience handling employment disputes and CCMA proceedings.
• Strong advisory, drafting and communication skills.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with HR and management.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and interpretation on all aspects of South African employment law.
• Draft, review and update employment contracts, policies and procedures.
• Advise on disciplinary processes, grievances and retrenchments.
• Represent the company in labour disputes, CCMA proceedings and related forums.
• Conduct legal training for HR personnel and management on employment law matters.
