Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Legal Advisor with expertise in Employment Law to support a remote legal team. You will advise on recruitment, onboarding, contracts, disciplinary matters, and compliance with South African labor legislation in a remote setting.

Ideal candidates have admitted attorney status with 5+ years of Employment Law experience, strong drafting and advisory skills, and the ability to train HR and management across Gauteng.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney with a minimum of 5 years of experience specializing in Employment Law.
• In-depth knowledge of South African labor legislation (LRA, BCEA, EEA).
• Proven experience handling employment disputes, negotiations, and litigation.

Responsibilities

• Advise management on all employment law matters, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, and terminations.
• Draft, review, and update employment contracts, policies, and procedures.
• Represent the company in CCMA and Bargaining Council disputes, arbitrations, and conciliations.
• Provide guidance on disciplinary hearings, grievance procedures, and investigations.
• Ensure compliance with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, and other relevant legislation.
• Develop and deliver training to HR and management on employment law topics.
• Conduct legal research on evolving employment law landscape.
