Placements24 is seeking an Employment Law Associate for a Queenstown-based role with a hybrid work model, balancing in-office collaboration and remote flexibility.

You will provide expert legal counsel on all aspects of employment law, including compliance, dispute resolution, and transactional advice. The position requires strong analytical skills and practical, legally sound solutions in a complex field.

Qualifications

• Admitted attorney with 4–6 years of post-qualification experience in employment law.
• Solid understanding of South African labour legislation and case law.
• Experience advising on employment disputes and negotiations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload and meet deadlines in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on compliance with labour laws, including the BCEA, LRA, and EEA.
• Draft and review employment contracts, policies, and procedures.
• Assist with disciplinary inquiries, grievance procedures, and CCMA/Bargaining Council disputes.
• Provide legal support for mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings concerning employment law.
• Conduct legal research and provide opinions on various employment-related matters.
• Represent clients in labour court proceedings as required.
