• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Electrical qualification (N2–N4 or equivalent) advantageous.
• At least 2 years’ experience assisting electricians.
• Basic knowledge of electrical installations and maintenance.
• Familiarity with electrical hand and power tools.
• Valid SA Code B driver’s license advantageous.
• Physically fit for varied environments and heights.
• No criminal record.

Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical installations, maintenance, servicing, and repairs across facilities.
• Install conduits, trunking, cable trays, wiring, lighting, plug circuits, and accessories.
• Pull and terminate cables under supervision of a qualified electrician.
• Assist with fault finding, repairs, and preventative maintenance inspections.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas; assist with stock and inventory counts.
• Complete electronic job cards, site photographs, and documentation.
• Follow OHS requirements and safety procedures; provide support to other teams as needed.
• Work overtime or after-hours when required.

The Electrician Assistant supports qualified electricians in the installation, maintenance, servicing, and repair of electrical systems across Boschendal’s residential, commercial, agricultural, and industrial facilities. Operating under supervision within the in-house Electrical Department, the role develops hands‑on trade skills while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and professionalism, and contributing to infrastructure reliability, compliance, and documentation discipline — living Boschendal’s values in every aspect of work and teamwork.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Installation & Maintenance Support

• Assist with electrical installations, maintenance, servicing, and repairs across residential, commercial, agricultural, and industrial facilities.
• Install conduits, trunking, cable trays, wiring, lighting, plug circuits, and electrical accessories.
• Pull and terminate cables under the supervision of a qualified electrician.
• Assist with electrical fault finding and repairs.
• Assist with preventative maintenance inspections.
• Clean, maintain, and organise electrical tools, equipment, and work areas.
• Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment.
• Collect materials from suppliers when required.
• Assist with stock control and inventory counts.
• Maintain good housekeeping and ensure work areas are left clean and safe.

Documentation

• Complete electronic job cards, site photographs, and work documentation.

Health, Safety & Teamwork

• Follow all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements and company procedures.
• Provide assistance to other maintenance teams when operationally required.
• Work overtime or after‑hours when operational requirements demand.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Electrical qualification (N2–N4 or equivalent) will be advantageous.
• At least 2 years’ practical experience assisting electricians.
• Basic knowledge of electrical installations and maintenance.
• Familiarity with electrical hand and power tools.
• Basic understanding of electrical safety procedures.
• Valid South African Code B driver’s licence will be advantageous.
• Physically fit and able to work in various environments, including heights and confined spaces.
• No criminal record.
